Obituary: Norma Mae Fowler Overcash, 91 of Concord, passed away at her home on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 with her family by her side. Norma was born on April 19, 1926 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Wade Ranzo Fowler and the late Faye Walker Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Overcash and sisters; Mary Baker, Alma Mozell Freeze and Kathleen Wilson. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harvey G. Overcash, her son, Steve Overcash and wife, Joann of Concord, her daughter, Becky Margolis of Concord and sister Loner Re Greenhill. She has 4 grandchildren Kandi Shaul of Concord, Matt Overcash of China Grove, Chad Overcash and wife, Tiffany of Talbert TN and Zachary Hurley of Charlotte, 4 great-grandchildren Dakota and Emma Shaul and Austin and Jackson Overcash. Norma was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church where she was a children's Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a teacher's assistant at Winecoff School and cherished her church and school children as well as her own children, husband and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 31 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Mike Waters and Darrell Coble officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday at Whitley's prior to the funeral.
