Norma Jean “Nana” Pearson, 82 of Kannapolis passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Cabarrus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Concord following a period of declining health.
She was born November 16, 1941 in Cabarrus County, N.C. a daughter of the late Charlie Brown Mullis and Vertie Murph Mullis.
Norma was a graduate of Winecoff High School. She had been employed at Celanese and later at Cannon Mills, Plt.#1 in the sheet department. She was of the Baptist Faith.She loved to bake cakes and adored her dog Jenny..
A Memorial Service will be held at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 5:00 P.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Family members left to cherish her memory include her constant and loving companion, Robert Safrit; three sons; Oscar Joe Pearson, Jr. and wife Vickie of Glenville, NC., David Pearson and wife Crystal of Kannapolis, and Billy Ray Pearson and wife Gabrielle. She is also survived by one daughter, Melissa Nolte of Kannapolis a sister, Doris Simms of Rutherforton and a brother, Harry Brown Mullis and wife Barbara Je of South Carolina.
Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
