Obituary: Norma Lynn Moser Woodard, 80, passed away Wednesday evening, May 1, 2019, at Tucker Hospice House. Born August 4, 1938, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late James Lloyd Moser, Sr. and Estelle Melton Moser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jerry Wayne Woodard; two daughters, Linda Kay Woodard and Marsha Woodard Besig; a granddaughter, Linda Kay Baker; and 3 brothers, James, Jerry and Joe. Mrs. Woodard was the devoted wife of Rev Jerry Woodard and supported him and his ministries. A creative person, Mrs. Woodard enjoyed painting, crafts and working in the yard. Family members left with cherished memories include her daughters, Lisa Woodard Cheek (Ricky) and Wanda Woodard Pierce (Brian); her grandchildren, Bobby Baker (Amanda), Crystal Eplin (Wayne), Laura Almond (Matt), Cherie Cooke (Travis Heath), Justin Cooke (Tara), and Chris Vinsant (Megan); and 9 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Woodard will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 4th from 11:30-1:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home. Services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Woodard will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Rodney Pethel. Mrs. Woodard will be laid to rest with her husband in Carolina Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Tucker Hospice, Nail Central, and Christy Pless of Canine Design, for the care and love given to Mrs. Woodard while at hospice.
