Norman Garver Shaver, 77, of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at his residence.
Norman was born on July 6, 1944 in Cabarrus County. He was a cherished son of the late James and Nora Garver Shaver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lillie Mae Thompson Shaver; brothers, James "Jimmy" Shaver and Larry Dean Shaver; mother-in-law, Maggie Leatherwood Stephenson; brothers -in- law, Frank Hoggard and Herman Duckett and his wife Roberta Duckett.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Linda "Lulu" Wingler and her husband Ernest; sisters- in- law, Terressa Trembley Shaver, Carolyn Shaver, Lois Hoggard; brother-in-law, Tommy Thompson and his wife Shirley; nieces, Crystal Martin and her husband Bill, Paula Neely, Lisa Hoggard; nephews, Eric Shaver and his wife Angie, Derick Wingler and his wife Leslie, Travis Shaver, David Shaver and his wife Ruth.
Norman spent his career working in Cannon Mills. He enjoyed attending car shows and had a passion for classic cars. He loved taking trips to the mountains and spending time outside. He was often found relaxing on his porch listening to old country songs. Norman enjoyed eating out at restaurants and could eat a steak every day if he could. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Services to honor Mr. Shaver will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022 in Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis with Dr. Tommy Wensil and Leonard Ewing officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior starting at 1:00 PM. Interment at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis will immediately follow after the service.
