Norman Reid Valentine

Norman Reid Valentine, 81 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his residence. Death was unexpected.

Norman was born August 31, 1939 in Cleveland County, NC a son of the late William Lawrence and Camilla Beatrice Wortman Valentine. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a graduate of Shelby High School and Kings Business College

He was a cost clerk in the Rowan County School Transportation Department where he retired in 1999 with 25 years of service.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. David Franks.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife, Madeleine Norton Valentine of the home, a daughter Lorinda Wray and husband Tim of Newton, NC, a special member of the family; a great-great nephew, Dante Morales and his sister, Vickie Diane Jones and husband Bob of Shelby.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the “Good Samaritan Fund” c/o First Reformed Church, 210 Central Avenue, Landis, NC 28088.
