Obituary: Ola Mae Shultz Stirewalt, 75, of Charlotte passed away, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. She was born March 22, 1941 in Newport, TN to the late Otis Roy Shultz and Roxie Pate Couick. She graduated from West Mecklenburg High School. Funeral service will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor John Petry officiating, burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Ola Mae worked for Pet Dairy and Carolina Eye, she enjoyed flowers, arts and crafts, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her cocker spaniel Squeeky. She was preceded in death by her brother Douglas Couick. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years Vernard Stirewalt, four daughters Deborah Phillips (Ken), Jenny Stirewalt (Chris), Barbara Morris, Lanett Follenius (Danny), Four sisters Betty Shultz Mull, Faye Shultz Underwood (Bill), Joyce Shultz Whitaker (Jerry), Saundra King, three grandsons, one granddaughter, one Great-granddaughter, two Great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, Memphis, TN, Humane Society of Charlotte and American Cancer Society.
