Olean Sherrill

Obituary: Olean Stancil Sherrill, 81, of Kannapolis passed away January 14, 2019 at her home. She was born March 14, 1937 in Mecklenburg County, a daughter of the late John Henry Stancil and Fannie Gant Stancil Flowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lee Sherrill, children, Henry Mayhew, Ted Sherrill, Wade Sherrill, Mickey Sherrill, granddaughter, Shawn White and greatgranddaughter, Stephanie Ennis. Olean had worked and retired from CMC-NorthEast (formerly Cabarrus Memorial Hospital) for many years where she worked in financial services. Olean loved to sew and garden. She also enjoyed traveling with her late husband to his Navy reunions. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Matthew Turbedsky. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 10 to 11 prior at Whitley's. Olean is survived by children, Patti Platt, Delia Moon (Marty), Michael David Sherrill (Debbie), brother, Bobby Lee Stancil, 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.
