Ora Lee Davis

Obituary: Ora Lee Simpson Davis, age 86, of Kannapolis passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Davis was born March 16, 1931 in Union County, the daughter of the late Roy A. Simpson and Pearl Richardson Simpson. She was educated in the Cabarrus County Schools. She worked for Terry Products for 44 years as a seamstress. Mrs. Davis was an active member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church where she received her Life Membership pin of the United Methodist Women. Ora Lee was active in the Senior Center. She loved the Lord, shopping, dancing, music, to laugh and spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Preceding her in death was husbands Marvin L. Weast, Jr. on September 30, 1982and Donald Davis Sr. on April 11, 2007 brothers Hernon and Melburn Simpson; sister Louise S. Honeycutt. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Freddie L. Patterson (Vickie) of Mooresville, Mike Patterson of Kannapolis and Donald Davis Jr. (Lori) of Duluth, GA; daughters Chris Shaver (Dennis) of Mooresville, Kelly Chandler (Scott) of Kannapolis and Ellen Godsey of Concord; grandchildren Robert Shaver, Reid Shaver, Max Chandler II, David Davis, Katelyn Davis, Jonathan Hodge, Sarah Shaver and Reese Moore; great-granddaughter Blakely Olivia Shaver. Visitation and Service: Visitation 1:30-2:30 Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Jackson Park United Methodist Church with service following at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Dr. Greg Gordon and Mr. Kirk Sams with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Memorials: Cabarrus County Hospice and Palliative Care, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to Jackson Park United Methodist Church, 715 Mable Ave., Kannapolis, NC 28083. The family would like to thank Cabarrus County Hospice and Palliative care and caregiver Staci Johnson for their loving Care of Mrs. Davis. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Davis family.
