Ordie G. Wages Barbee

Obituary: Ordie G. Wages Barbee, age 91, of Kannapolis passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at CMC Northeast. Mrs. Barbee was born January 6, 1926 in Ashe County, the daughter of the late Walter Weldon Goodman and Bessie Falls Goodman. She worked for Cannon Mills for 25 years and later worked for Cabarrus County Home Healthcare until her retirement around 2000. She was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Ordie loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers, going shopping and feeding the birds. She loved spending time with her family. Preceding her in death was her first husband Bob Wages on June 19, 1994 and second husband James Delmer Barbee in 1995; grand- daughters Glinda K. Wilson and Lori Ann Wilson Isenhour; great-great-granddaughter Annalise Anderson. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters Linda Wages Anderson (Junior) of Kannapolis and Mary Catherine Wages Daniels of Mt. Ulla; sons Robert Wages of China Grove and Raymond Wages of Kannapolis; sister Willene Carter of Kannapolis; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-1:30 PM Monday, December 18, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home and a graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM Monday at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum conducted by Rev. Chris O'Guin.
