Otha Lee Thomas

Obituary: Otha Lee Rushing Thomas, 83, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Thomas was born August 18, 1931 in Chesterfield County to the late George Rushing and Martha Lee Gulledge Rushing. She worked for Family Dollar for 25 years; was of the Nazarene Faith; but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Herbert Thomas of the home; a daughter, Diane Ludwick (Scott) of Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Bett Huffman of Florida; two grandchildren, Sherri Jackson (Rick) and Eric Needham (Kim); five great-grandchildren, Matthew Needham, Caitlin Jackson, Jason Needham, Christopher Needham, and Jennifer Needham. Mrs. Otha was preceded in death by a son, Richard Doyle Thomas on December 6, 2014. A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Re, Mike Hubbard officiating. Burial will be private.
