Ottis C (Flowers) Farrington

Ottis Flowers Farrington, 96, peacefully passed away Wednesday morning, March 18, 2020, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center, where she had been a resident.

Born October 18, 1923, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Phelps Flowers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph Farrington, Sr., her son, Joseph “Joey” Farrington, her daughters, Phyllis Farrington and Judy Moon, and siblings, Paul Flowers, Pearl Black, Maudine Duncan and George Flowers.

Ottis was a graduate of Landis High and had been a long time member of Kannapolis Church of God.  A loyal, long time employee of Terry Products, she had also been employed with Stay On Products of Landis.  Following her retirement, Mrs. Farrington’s kind and personable demeanor served her well as a volunteer with Northeast Medical Center.  She also loved traveling with Christian Tours for many years. Mrs. Farrington had been a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her grandchildren, Sharon Penniger and husband, Charles, Mary Beth Jones, Tammy Tutterow and husband, Bobby, Rusty Farrington and wife, Debbie, Teresa Black and Dwayne Farrington; 9 great grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Private graveside services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Farrington will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest with her husband and son.
