Obituary: Pamela Cramer Middlemiss, age 54, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 1, 2014 at her home. She was born March 9, 1960 at Andrews Air Force Base Hospital in Maryland, the daughter of Edward Turocey of Margate, Florida & the late Florence Chamberlain. Pamela was a graduate of CCRI in Rhode Island and received her master's degree at UNCC. During her early college years she played basketball and volleyball. She also had played on a softball league during those years. She met her husband in Virginia where her step-dad was retiring from the military. She had lived in Virginia for four years. She also lived in Rhode Island for 1977 to 1990. Finally, moving to North Carolina where her husband became affiliated with the racing industry. She also had worked at DEI in Mooresville for nine years. Being a sun-worshipper, Pamela thoroughly enjoyed outdoor life especially spending time around horses, dogs, and animals in general. For many years she and her family participated in the arts volunteering at Piedmont Players Theater in Salisbury, NC. She is fondly remembered by her family as a lady who enjoyed helping people. She always felt that if you were a friend you were like family. Visitation for Pamela will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC. Survivors in addition to her father include her husband of thirty-eight years, Dean J. Middlemiss; one son, Jamison Middlemiss of Salisbury, NC; one sister, Phyllis Rice of Eagle River, Alaska; and two brothers, Raymond Chamberlain of Wilmington, NC and Joseph Turocey of Florida.
