Obituary: Pansy Fields Long, 77 of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center. Her death follows a period of declining health. Mrs. Long was born on May 30, 1935 in Cabarrus County the daughter of the late Charlie Vance and Blanche Safrit Fields. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband; Herman Luther Long, and second husband Milton Reefe Long, a daughter; Connie Long Gareau, and a brother, Jerry Lee Fields. Graveside services for Mrs. Long will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 10, 2012 at West Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Monday, December 10, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home prior to the services. Mrs. Long retired from Cannon Mills in 1995 where she had been employed for 35 years in the weave room at plant #1. She enjoyed reading, music, and gardening. She especially enjoyed the mountains and taking pictures. She will be remembered as a humble and caring person and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters; Sheila Long Foster and husband Curtis of Rockwell, Cheryl Long Mabe and husband Glenn of Germanton, 4 grandchildren; Roxanne Michelle Noles, Holly Marie Foster, Clifton Wade Noles Jr., and Christopher Joseph Gareau, and 4 great grandchildren; Trevor, Hunter, Dawson, and Jaxson.

Service: 2:00 PM, Monday December 10, 2012 Graveside at West Lawn Memorial Park

Interment: West Lawn Memorial Park
