Paris Lessie Martin

Obituary: Paris Lessie Martin, 78, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Monday February 10, 2014 at Novant Rowan Medical Center following a period of declining health. He was born December 24, 1935 in Pike County, Ky., son of the late Butler and Corbie Bartley Martin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son; Robin W. Martin, a sister and a brother. Mr. Martin was a plant manager at Robinson American Ceramics in Morrisville, Pa. in early life and later was employed in residential construction doing grading and carpentry work. He was a very active member of North Main Baptist Church in Salisbury. He enjoyed woodworking and helping people. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife; Waltarine Sarah Slawson Martin of the home, three sons, Mark M. Martin (Linda) of Grayden, Pa., Dean Martin of Morrisville, Pa. and Jason Wade Martin of Spencer. NC. He is also survived by one step-son, Robert W. Kiser (Pat) of Madisonville, Ky., grandson, Dean Allen Martin, sister, Ina Mae Pietrewicz, a brother, Virgil Martin and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Dr. Dale Robertson and Rev. Bobby Seagroves. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 12:30-2:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family requests that memorial be sent to North Main Baptist Church, 1501 North Main Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
