Obituary: Pasquale "Patsy" Conti, 97, of Kannapolis, formerly of Del Ray Beach, Fl. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Big Elm Nursing Center following a period of declining health. "Patsy" was born October 28, 1916 in New York City, NY, son of the late Franceso and Rosa Coviello Conti. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a pipe fitter that helped build power plants in New Jersey. He was a Member of Pipe Fitters Local Union#274. "Patsy" was of the Catholic Faith. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Huntersville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was known for helping people and taking care of his family. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Hubbard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Conti, four brothers, Vincent, Joseph, Andrew and Fred Conti, and one sister, Rae Conti Scerbo. Survivors include two daughters, Joan Marie Basinger "Brett" of Kannapolis and Diane Halle of Florida, one son, Frank Conti (Linda) of Florida. "Patsy" is also survived by ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The family will be at the residence of a daughter, Joan Basinger of Kannapolis.
