Obituary: Harrisburg - Patricia "Patt" Whitley Felts, 74, of Harrisburg died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis following a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, May 30 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel with Rev. Charles Efird, Rev. Rody Carland and Rev. Ron Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at Whitley's Annex Chapel at other times they will be at the family home. Patt was born February 13, 1935 in Kannapolis, NC the daughter of the late Victor Mott Whitley and the late Evelyn Marshall Whitley. She was a life long area resident, educated in Kannapolis city schools, graduating from AL Brown HS in 1953 and earning her RN from Presbyterian Hosp. in Charlotte. Patt worked for the McLean Clinic in Charlotte for 10 years and then 27 years for Cabarrus Pediatric Clinic until she retired in 1999. Patt was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Harrisburg. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bobby S. Felts of the family home; her son, John A. Felts of Oregon and her daughter, Susan Felts Helms and husband, Jerry of Cameron, NC. She is also survived by her grandsons Jeremy and Wesley Helms. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
