Patricia Anne (Robinson) Gainey

Patricia Anne Robinson Gainey, 69, of China Grove, went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 13, 2022.

Pat was born on June 27, 1952 in Cabarrus County, a cherished daughter of the late Raymond Holloway Robinson (Rosie) and Doris Bost Robinson Holt (Edgar). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Ray Gainey.

Pat was a 1970 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School. She spent her career working with children as a reading tutor for Kannapolis City Schools. She was a longtime member of Shadybrook Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowship and worship. She loved to read, go shopping and was a talented bowler. It filled her heart with joy to attend her grandchildren's sporting events. Pat enjoyed trips to the beach, cheering on Dale Earnhardt, and was often found attending to her flowers in her garden. Pat always had a warm and inviting presence about her, you could feel it as soon as you entered her home. Pat was a kind a generous person and would donate to many Charites and foundations. She loved her family very much and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her Loving children, Kristi Gainey Schultz (Jason) and Kevin Wayne Gainey; grandchildren, Isaac Jerry Gainey, Jacob Graham Schultz, Molly Nicolena Gainey William Colie Schultz; brother, Charles "Ray" Robinson (Jeanne); half-sister, Teresa R. Chapman (Eddie); step-sister Tammie Melton; and step-brother, Terry Holt (Eunice).

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm- 8:00pm Monday, May 16, 2022 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Services will be held the next day at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Rick Felts officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Terra Bella of Harrisburg and Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte for the wonderful care they showed to Pat.
