Obituary: Patricia (Pat) Ann Deese James, 80, of Kannapolis passed away April 14, 2019 at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born December 2, 1938 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Henry and Esther Reynolds Deese. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Neal James. Pat was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School Class of 1957. She worked for Central Motor Lines before going to work at Cannon Mills where she worked in the Data Processing Dept and then retired from the Employment Office. She was lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and playing in her Rook and Canasta clubs. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends prior from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the church. Pat is survived by her daughter, Amelia Goodnight (Doug), grandchildren, James Goodnight (Anne), McKinley Kunz (Stefan) and her sister, Sandra Chapman.
