Patricia Ann Carter Jones

Obituary: Patricia Ann Carter Jones, 79, of Kannapolis moved to her heavenly home on Friday, April 6, 2018. She passed away peacefully at her home. She was born April 25, 1939 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Perry Webster Carter and Ada Combs Carter. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 9, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Monday prior to the service at Whitley's Funeral Home. Patricia was a homemaker and mother to four children, she then went to work in the Kannapolis Schools as a secretary and worked until her retirement in 1994. She was an active church member of Bethpage Methodist, she then started going to Lane Street Baptist Church where she started a youth choir and sang in the adult choir, she was also a Sunday school teacher, and a member of WMU, in 2002 she started going to church at Genesis Baptist Church. Patricia was also past President of North Carolina Secretary Association. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Spence Jones in 1998, and also an infant sister Glenda Carter. Those left to cherish her memory, her children Patti Mills (Jerry) of China Grove, Penny Ragan (Mark) of Kannapolis, Michael Jones (Tamara) of China Grove, Mark Jones of Mooresville, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
