Paul R. Gurley

Paul R. Gurley, 82, of Richfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 16, 2024. He was born May 31, 1941 to the late Arthur and Agnes (Bost) Gurley.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 pm, Tuesday February 20, 2024 at Broadus Church, 59 Green Street SW, Concord, NC 28027. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rodney J. Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.

Survivors include wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Lorene Gurley of the home; children, Jill (Bob) Loflin of New London, NC and Jason (Kristi) Gurley of Richfield, NC; step-daughter, Debbie (Frank) Dumont of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren, Garrett (Jesi) Loflin, Holly (Jacob) Comer, Jenny (Drake) Bowers, Leah Gurley and Jase Gurley; great grandchildren, Memphis and Beau Comer and Sadie Loflin; siblings, Doris (Terry) Hess; and many nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Kenneth and Donald Gurley and his sister, Colleen Woodward.

Paul worked for Bell South for thirty years as a technician. He loved the country where he gardened and raised cattle, turkeys, and chickens on Rock Haven Farms.  Paul was a Christian man and always attended church regularly.  He loved his family both immediate and extended.  Paul’s sense of humor always entertained and brought a smile to everyone.
