Obituary: Mr. Paul H. McGee, 88, of Salisbury passed away on October 14, 2014 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home. He was born May 5, 1926, the son of the late Laddie Ray McGee and the late Nellie Winecoff McGee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Keith McGee and Billie McGee. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army Engineering Aviation Battalion. Paul was the owner of McGee Concrete and Construction and also loved to farm. His hobbies included hunting and woodworking. Survivors include his wife of 68 years; Mildred G. McGee, who he married January 27, 1946. One son, Donnie (Debbie) McGee and daughter; Janice M. Shaver (Don). 4 Grandchildren; Stacey White (Tim), Amy Overcash (Derek), Paul and Kevin Shaver; 5 Great-grandchildren; Ashlynn Perry, Amber and Mira'" White; Taylor and Michael Bostian and two sisters, Helen M. Gordon and Ruth M. Webb. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Salem Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church parlor from 1:00 P.M.until 2:45 P.M. prior to the service. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. McGee.
