Obituary: Paul Calvin Severt, 84, of Kannapolis, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 10, 2016, the day after the death of his wife of 50 years, Beulah Lois Severt. Paul was born November 23, 1931 in Ashe County to the late Arnold Severt and Annie Mash Severt. He worked at Cannon Mills Plant #1 for 44 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Central Baptist Church where he served on the Financial Committee. In addition to his wife, he preceded in death by a son, Calvin David Severt in 2002 also, by two brothers; Jimmy Severt and Leonard Severt. Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Thomas Severt of Charlotte, two daughters; Sylvia Bradley of Mooresville, and Beatrice Severt of Charlotte, eight grandchildren; Kevin Howell, Kelli Howell, Dallas Severt Stancil, Josh Severt, Sunshine Alexander, Walter Thomas, Catrina Acree, Alison Thomas, and 15 great-grandchildren, one brother, Don Severt and four sisters; Opal Moore, Shirley Neaves, Wanda Barnes and Bronda Elliott. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00-2:00 PM (March 14) at Central Baptist Church. Joint funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Severt will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at the church with Rev. Curtis Parker officiating; burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
