Obituary: Mr. Paul Mitchell Smith, 83, of 645 Deal Road, Mooresville, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the NC Lutheran Home, Trinity Oaks, Salisbury, NC following a period of declining health. Mr. Smith was born December 20, 1927 in Rowan County, NC, a son of the late Thad William and Mabel Lorene Parks Smith. He was self employed as an owner/operator of a catering service. He was a US Air Force Veteran, having served during the Korean War and was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church in China Grove. A Memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, September 19, 2011in the sanctuary of Concordia Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Ken Reed. The family will receive friends in the family life center at the church following the service. At other times they will be at the residence.He is survived by his wife, Audrey Karriker Smith, two sons, Kim Alyn Smith of China Grove, and Mark Anthony Smith of Mooresville, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Louise Smith Bost of Mooresville, and Nancy Smith Karriker of Kannapolis and a brother, Ralph T. Smith of Kannapolis. He was preceded in death by a son, Duane Steven Smith.Memorials may be made to the Building Fund, Concordia Lutheran Church, 185 Concordia Church Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
Visitation: The family will receive friends in the family life center at the church following the service.

Service: A Memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, September 19, 2011in the sanctuary of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Interment: Burial will be private.
