Paul Clinton Walker

May 31, 1938 — January 22, 2021

Kannapolis

Paul Clinton Walker, 82, passed peacefully at home on January 22, 2021.

Born May 31, 1938, he was the son of the late Charles and Pauline Walker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nita, his daughter Paulette Walker of Arlington, TX, brother Russell (Dianne) Walker of Kannapolis, Daughter In Law Kathy Walker and grandsons Christopher Bauserman and Charles Walker.  He is predeceased by his parents, son Michael and brothers Charles Walker Jr, Martin Walker and Gerald Walker.

Paul graduated from Bladensburg HS in Maryland in 1956.  He joined the Air Force in 1958 and proudly served his country for 4 years.   While stationed in California, he met the love of his life on a blind date.

After leaving the Air Force the family moved from California to Maryland where he became employed with AT&T.  He held many roles in his 33 years with AT&T and retired at the age of 51 ½.

In the mid 70’s Paul and Nita began square dancing and made numerous life-long friends while do-si-do-ing and yellow-rocking.   In 1981 he decided to try his hand at square dance calling and became one of the most loved callers in the region.  They called him Teddy Bear and the nickname suited him well.

Paul was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church.   His love of the Lord carried him through his lifetime and although he lost the ability to sing in the past year, we take comfort in knowing his voice is restored and he is singing again, praising the God he loved so much.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Cabarrus County for their compassionate care given to Paul and the family.

Due to Covid19, the family will not be holding any services.

Memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Dr NW, Concord, NC  28027 or a charity of your choice.
