Paul Nicholson White

Obituary: Paul Nicholson White was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on his 99th birthday on January 20, 2013 at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center, Yadkinville. Paul was born January 20, 1914 in Davie County to the late B.F White and Clementine Boyd White. He received his education at the former Noah's Ark School in Davie County. On September 13, 1941 Paul married the love of his life Doris Wallace. They were happily married 65 and ½ years. Paul was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle. Paul retired from Cannon Mills after about 38 years of employment as a weaver. He was a member of the First Baptist Church; Kannapolis until declining health prevented his attending. Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris in April 2007. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Bracy, Lemuel, Roy, and Jurl White, one sister Arizona White Hayes. Others preceding Uncle Paul in death were two nephews Allen White and Carl White, niece Edith White Keaton, great nephew Samuel L. White, Jr, great niece Rebecca Jane Carter, step great niece Marie Marrs. Those left to cherish Uncle Paul's memories are two nieces Betty Sue Smith, Mocksville, care giver, Jane White Carter (Jack) of Advance, three nephews Leon White (Nancy), Grady White (Ann), and John Frank White all of Mocksville, and numerous great nieces and nephews, and other extended family members. Funeral service for Paul will be conducted on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis with the Rev. Dr. Tom Cabaniss officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Winston Salem, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 in memory of Paul N. White or to the charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to extend a SPECIAL THANK YOU to the staff on Hickory Hall at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center, Yadkinvile for all the love and care you gave to Uncle Paul. He loved each of you and appreciated everything you did to help him. We would also like to say THANK YOU to our many friends and neighbors for their prayers, support and help during the sickness and loss of Uncle Paul.
