Paula was born on Saturday, February 26, 1955 to Carolyn Smith and the late Paul Smith in Charlotte, NC. She was a graduate of Garinger High, class of 1973. She lived with her family and her adored dog, Chaquita, in Rutherfordton, NC. Paula lived with a zest for life that few of us achieve. Her family and friends were her passion and meant everything to her. Music brought happiness to her life; she loved rock n roll from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. Travel brought her joy; she especially loved to visit out west. One of her favorite pastimes was playing card games. However, most of all she enjoyed sharing her quick wit and infectious laugh during quality time with her family and friends. She would meet you with a warm, inviting smile, and hug. She was gifted at the art of conversation and had a sense of humor to match! She was willing to help anyone in any way that she could. Paula could be tough; she was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends.

There will be a gathering of family and friends to honor and remember Paula on February 8, 2025 at 12n until 2pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis.
