Pauline “Nanny” Ross, 97, peacefully passed away Monday afternoon, April 18, 2022, at the Brian Center in Concord, where she had been a resident.
Born May 11, 1924, in Danville, VA, she was a daughter of the late J.H. and Ludie Mefford Hendrix. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude J. Vannoy; her second husband, James C. Ross; her sons, Tim, Jerry Lee and Larry Dale Vannoy; and her siblings.
Pauline retired from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, where she had been a dedicated certified nursing assistant for many years. She faithfully served and loved her Lord, enjoyed church and loved singing. Although in a much better place today, Mrs. Ross will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Family members left with cherished memories include numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and extended family members.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 21st from 12:30-2:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and give thanks for the life of Mrs. Ross will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow the services at Carolina Memorial Park.
