Obituary: - Pauline Simmons Brown Stirewalt, age 84, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a short illness. She was born January 17, 1929 in Madison County, Georgia, the daughter of the late W.C. Simmons and Cora Mae Mitchell Simmons. Pauline was employed with the former China Grove Cotton Mills and Corlin Mills for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Landis Baptist Church, Landis, NC. Her family fondly remembers her love of cooking and spending time with people. She loved her family especially her children and grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Gary S. Morris, pastor of St. Stephen's Wesleyan Church, Georgeville, NC. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her children, Gerald Brown & wife, Rae and Marlene Johnson & husband, Dennis, both of Kannapolis, NC; Glenn Brown & wife, Leona and Dennis Brown & wife, Darlene, both of Mt. Pleasant, NC; nineteen grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
