Obituary: Pearl Carmela DeRosa Stemler - AKA "MeMa", 90, of Concord died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at her residence after a period of declining health. Pearl was born April 28, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Gerardo and Carmela Formica DeRosa. Pearl was married to the late Alfred Stemler who passed in 2007. In addition to her husband and a number of siblings; she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Stemler in April of this year. Pearl was survived by her daughter, Gail Ackerman (Steve) of Kannapolis and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Stemler of Concord, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and her sister, Viola McDowell. To celebrate her life, her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday, June 8 and a graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM Monday at the National Cemetery in Salisbury.
