Obituary: Wagstaff, Pearl Watson Kannapolis, NC-Pearl Watson Wagstaff, age 83, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. She was born March 27, 1928 in Stanly County, NC, the daughter of the late John E. Watson, Sr. and Louise Knoth Watson. She was a 1946 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School. Pearl along with her late husband owned & operated Wagstaff Town & Country, Kannapolis, NC since 1974. In earlier years she traveled with her husband for many years with his clothing business. She was also active in payroll and bookkeeping businesses for a period of time. She was a member of the former Clarice Womens Club and a present Kannapolis History Associates. She held her church membership of Calvary Lutheran Church, Concord, NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Wagstaff, Sr. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by the Rev. Dr. John Boyd and Rev. Dr. Richard Little. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her son, Donald E. Wagstaff, Jr. & wife, Peggy of Kannapolis, NC; her granddaughter, Tiffany Wagstaff of Concord, NC; her brother, John E. Watson, Jr. & wife, Phyllis of Kannapolis, NC; her sister, Elaine Wingler & husband, Jack of Concord, NC; and a special gray tabby cat. Memorials may be made to Kannapolis History Associates, P.O.
