Peggy Jean Barnett

Peggy Jean Barnett, 84, of Kannapolis, passed away suddenly at her residence on December 30, 2020, after a brief illness.

Peggy was born May 9, 1936, in Iredell County, a daughter of the late James Hatley Outen and Margaret Cox Eagle Outen. In addition to her parents Peggy is preceded in death by her son, James Edward Barnett, daughter Cynthia Diane Barnett, and brother Charles Outen.

Peggy spent 22 years working at Eckerd’s food stand in the mall. She was a friend to everyone and will be remembered for her sense of humor and jokes. She was a warm, caring person who could make anyone laugh.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Vickie B. Austin of Kannapolis; sons Roger Dale Barnett of Salisbury and Kenneth Eugene Barnett of Rockwell; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
