Peggy Cannon Daniels Gardner

May 17, 1929 — September 5, 2019

Peggy Cannon Daniels Gardner left this Earth to join her Heavenly Father on September 5, 2019 at the age of 90. Peggy was loved and respected by everyone who knew her. Her charm, kindness and sense of humor made her the wonderful person she was.

She was passionate about family, faith, service to God and her community.

Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, George Daniels, Jr. and her second husband, Clark Gardner. She will be forever cherished by her three daughters, Laura D. Keever (Tom), Georganne D. McDaniel (Keith) and Beth D. Harrison (Clyde Geelen); grandsons, John Keever, Philip Keever (Ginger), Brandon McDaniel (Laura), Chris Prince (Jessica) and; great-grandchildren, J.T. Keever, Natalie Keever, Ellie Keever, Finn McDaniel, and Sawyer McDaniel.

Peggy will always be loved and remembered by her step-children, Clark Gardner, Jr. (Ruth), Cathy Houck (Mick) and Gwynn McCombs Goodman (Alan); step-grandsons, Josh McCombs (Beth), Zac McCombs (Lisa) and Seth Gardner; step-great grandchildren, Landon, Lincoln, Logan, Elizabeth and Cora McCombs.

Peggy worked for Cannon Mills/Fieldcrest Cannon for over forty years and retired as Assistant Treasurer of Accounts Payable.

She was a long time member of Memorial United Methodist Church and served her church in many capacities. She was also a long time member of The Pilot Club of Kannapolis and will be missed by her Pilot friends across the state of North Carolina.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday September 14 at Memorial United Methodist Church 1100 W. C Street, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends on Friday September 13, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard, Kannapolis.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Morningside Assisted Living for the excellent care provided to mother for the past three years.

Memorials may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church at the aforementioned address or to Pilot International, 102 Preston Court, Macon, GA 31210.
