Peggy A (Murdock) Harkey

Peggy A. (Murdock) Harkey, long time Kannapolis resident, passed away on April 6, 2024. She was 88 years old. Her parents were the late Fred L. Murdock and Annie Overcash Murdock of Troutman, N.C.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Perry N. Harkey, a son Barry N. Harkey and daughter, Deborah L. Harkey. Her remaining son, P. Donald (Don) Harkey, resides in Pinehurst N.C. with his wife Aina. Peggy has four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one sibling, Jimmy G Murdock of Holden Beach, N.C.

For the past fifteen years, Peggy suffered from COPD, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The family asks you to remember Peggy for who she was and to make a donation to the Alzheimer Foundation in her honor.

Peggy will be interred at Carolina Memorial Park. A private memorial service will be organized for her family in due course.
