Peggy Phifer Stilwell

Obituary: China Grove- Peggy Phifer Stilwell, 93, passed away Friday morning, December 28, 2018, at Universal Healthcare in Concord. Born February 22, 1925, in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Julian R. and Elizabeth Naomi Todd Phifer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Stilwell; her brother, Jack Phifer; and a grandson, Andy McDonald. Mrs. Stilwell was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and wonderful homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in China Grove, and enjoyed sewing, crafts and time spent with her family. Although in her Heavenly home today, Mrs. Stilwell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family members with cherished memories include her daughter, Peggy Jane McDonald and husband, Doug; and her grandson, Sam McDonald. Graveside services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Stilwell will begin at 11 am Monday, December 31st at Forest Lawn West cemetery in Charlotte, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. The family will speak with friends at the cemetery, following the graveside services.
