Penny Sue (Green) Hunter

Penny Sue Green Hunter, 53, passed away on Saturday, September 18th, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Green and her father-in-law, John Hunter Sr.

She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years Steve Hunter; father, Ernest Green; two sons, Chris Scott and Tyler Scott; three daughters, Amber Hunter, Jordan Eudy, and Cierra Hunter; two sisters, Pamela Copeland, and Tina Stark; and 7 grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and prayed daily. She was the light that shined in everyone's life and was always there for those that truly needed her. Her presence will be forever missed by all that had the honor of meeting her and getting to know her. The family would like to thank the nurses at CMC Main, team 4B for the immaculate care they provided.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Whitley's Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow and begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Whitley's Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Stubbs officiating.

In lieu of flowers, you can donate in Penny's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
