Obituary: Perry Thomas Draughn, 59, of 53 Brookwood Ave., Concord, died at The Bob & Carolyn Tucker Hospice House on Monday, June 10, 2013. He was born on Nov. 23, 1953 in Forsyth County, NC, the son of Veronia Nance Draughn of Concord and the late Burley Thomas Draughn. Perry was raised in Courtney, NC, where he attended school until moving with his family to Concord when he entered the 10th grade. Perry was a 1972 graduate from Concord High School. He was a project manager with Reliable Woodworks . Perry loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and dearly loved his grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Draughn will take place at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June, 13, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Ray Rivenbark. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 before the service. At other times will be at the residence. In addition to his mother, Perry is survived by his wife, Connie Troutman Draughn of the home; 2 daughters, Heather Nimer (Anthony) of Concord and Holly Draughn of Wilmington, NC; 2 grandchildren, Grayson and Bailey Nimer and his sister, Kathy Franklin of Winston-Salem, NC.
