Philip "Phil" Randolph Hartis

Philip “Phil” Randolph Hartis, 74, of Claremont and formerly of Kannapolis, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

Phil was born on November 7, 1948 in Rowan County, NC to the late Marvin Honeycutt and Wilna Luck Honeycutt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Joseph Luck.

Phil worked at Cannon Mills, Craftman Fabrics, and was manager of Carolina Mall before retiring as USDA-NRCS EQIP Conservation Technician for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a jack of all trades who could fix anything. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, gardening and especially liked detailing cars. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for his black Lab, Lady.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 16 years, Diana Shook-Hartis; three daughters, Tina (Thomas) Bradford, Cynthia Hartis, and Crystal Hartis; two grandchildren, Kiyah Lee and Hayden Brown, and a sister, Becky Dwiggins.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.  on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at North Kannapolis United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Hartman officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
