Obituary: Phyllis Ann Smith Breslin, 72, of Concord, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at her residence. Death was unexpected. Phyllis was born October 27, 1942 in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Harry and Virginia Smith. She was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church, Concord, where she was a greeter, a member of the Women's Guild, and the hospitality group. Phyllis enjoyed scrapbooking and was a member of a group of church ladies who made blankets for the patients of Jeff Gordon's Children's Hospital. She was formerly as an associate at Walgreens and was a homemaker. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church conducted by Father Joseph Dionne, C.Ss.R. Mrs. Breslin will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in St. James the Greater Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. A Rosary Service will follow the visitation. At other times they will be at the residence. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James Breslin of the Home, two sons, James J. Breslin and wife Penny of Mint Hill and their two children Miriam and Owen; and David M. Breslin and wife Tracy and their son Andrew of Concord. Memorials may be made to CVAN, P.O.
