Phyllis Yoder Calloway

Obituary: Phyllis Yoder Calloway, 80 of concord died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her residence following a period of declining health. Mrs. Calloway was born in Cabarrus County, NC. on July 17, 1931 a daughter of the late Jones Franklin and Ruth Ola Kiser Yoder. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Doris Yoder Sims. She was a lifelong Cabarrus County resident, a member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and reading. She especially enjoyed going to the lake with her family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home main chapel with Rev. Debbie Madden officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the services at Whitley's Funeral Home. Mrs. Calloway is survived by her husband Donald E. Calloway with whom she was married to for 59 years. In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters; Pamela Calloway Harrington (Clegg), and Tammy Calloway Drye all of Concord, two grandsons; Courtney Harrington of Cornelius, and Cameron Drye of Concord, a brother, Myron Yoder (Carol) of Landis, nephews; Mark, Scott, and Matt Yoder, and Keith and Billy Sims, great nieces; Madison and Hannah Yoder, and Melissa Morgan, great nephews; James Sims, and Christopher Yoder, and close friends; Tim and Candy Ponczka.
