Obituary: Phyllis Jo Garmon Seymore, 73, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center Main in Charlotte. Mrs. Seymore was born in Rowan County September 22, 1941 to the late Arow and Demy Beaver Garmon. She was a homemaker; was a former member for 50 years at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church where she was a choir director, youth director, secretary, and served all areas of the church. Phyllis was a current member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, George Alex Seymore of the home; a daughter, Tamara Oliver (Van) of Kannapolis, a son, Darrell Seymore of China Grove; a grandson, Branndon Seymore (Cristen) of China Grove, NC; two sisters, Peggy Farlow of High Point, and Betty Keller of Kannapolis; four brothers, Rev. Jesse Garmon of Elkin, Stephen Garmon , Gary Garmon, and Johnny Garmon all of China Grove. Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Copeland. A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Parker, Rev. Steve Beam, and Rev. Jesse Garmon officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
