Obituary: Ralph Russell Adams, 77, of Rockwell passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at home with his family by his side. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM Saturday December 19 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Ralph was born December 12, 1932 in Madison Co. GA, the son of the late I. Y. and Lois Jordan Adams. He served in the US Army, retired from Carolina Freight Carriers Corp. in 1994 after 26 years of service. Ralph was an avid gardener, deer hunter, fisherman and woodworker. He also loved to travel with the K-Town Vagabonds. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Combs Adams and sister, Evelyn Adams. He is survived by his 3 daughters; Sharon Adams Cabe and husband, Tim of Hendersonville, Kim Adams Isenhour and husband, David of China Grove, Angie Adams Love and husband, Jamie of Kannapolis and his son, William Russell Adams and wife, Debbie of Rockwell, his grandchildren; Leigh Beddingfield (Brent), Amber Knighton (Jeremy), Lauren Adams Haigler (Chris) and Reagan Love, his great-grandchildren; Bryson, Lance and Garrett Beddingfield, Jakob Knighton and Madison Haigler. He is also survived by his sisters, Jo Weatherly and Brenda Carey, his brothers, Hugh Adams and Jimmy Adams all of GA. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
