Ralph Warren Hollopeter

Obituary: Ralph W. Hollopeter, age 82, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Bob & Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after an extended illness but was seriously ill for 2 months. He was born August 7, 1928 in Houston Township, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Rueben Lawrence Hollopeter and Margaret Shotzberger Hollopeter. Ralph was employed with Western-Southern Life Insurance Company and then Southland Life Insurance Company as an agent for many years until his retirement. After retirement he worked for Gopher Utility, Kannapolis, NC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps after spending 21 years of service. In addition to his parents he is preceded by his 1st wife, Dorothy Deal Hollopeter. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC officiated Rev. Constance Garrett with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include his 2nd wife, Neva Troutman Hollopeter; his children, Marledo Eury & husband, Ray of Concord, NC, Nancy Purser & husband, Terry, Debbie Moss & husband, Giles of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and R. Warren Hollopeter II & wife, Janet of Mt. Pleasant, NC; Clifton Hollopeter & wife, Maria of Concord, NC, John Hollopeter & wife, Angie of Kannapolis, NC, Jackie Benfield & husband, Jeff of Landis, NC, Jeff Russell of Kannapolis, NC; Twenty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; Two sisters, Mary Leakway of Lancaster, PA and Miriam Decker of Roaring Springs, PA.
