Ralph “Allen” McAllister, 77 of Kannapolis passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
Allen was born February 13, 1945 in Catawba County, N.C., the only son of Ralph and Emma Jean Mays McAllister.
Allen served as a US Navy pilot during Vietnam, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. After a long career in aviation, he later worked for the CAE company training military pilots on C-130 flight simulators.
After retirement he enjoyed hiking, camping and being in the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 23 years, Charlotte Walter of the Home; three sons, Michael McAllister of Florida, Daniel McAllister of North Carolina, and Corey McAllister of South Carolina; two daughters, Jean McAllister of Florida, Melissa McAllister of North Carolina and two grandchildren, Patrick and Alexandra McAllister.
Committal services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury N.C. 28144 with military graveside rites conducted by the Rowan County Veteran’s Honor Guard and the US Navy.
The family requests that any memorials be made to the Rowan County Veteran’s Honor Guard, P.O. Box 913, Salisbury, NC 28145.
