Ralph Frank Setzer

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Ralph Frank Setzer, age 93, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his home after four years of declining health. He was born September 25, 1917 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late John Franklin Setzer and Essie Louella Caldwell Setzer. Ralph was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt.#1 Sheet Dept. for many years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC. His family fondly remembers his love of gardening, music, and carpentry skills. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters, Myrtle Stegall, Viola Stegall, Esther Yates, and Carrie Ballard; and one brother, Carl Setzer. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Neal Brower. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Zoe Rabon Setzer; one son, Terry R. Setzer and Shirley S. Howard, both of Kannapolis, NC; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
