Obituary: Randy Colen Crainshaw, age 67, passed away on January 1, 2018. He was born September 7, 1950 to the late Allie Mae Graham Crainshaw and Charlie Colen (Bud) Crainshaw in Concord. In 1966 Randy obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 35 at Second Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis. He also earned 36 Merit Badges, earned the God and Country Award, was inducted into the Order of the Arrow and spent a week at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron NM. Randy graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1968. In the same year Randy was selected to represent North Carolina in the one and only Lion's International World Youth Conference in Dallas TX. There was one high school senior or graduate selected from each of the 50 states and each country that Lion's International was operating in. After one year of college, Randy stepped back into the family business that his dad started in 1958, Appliance Service Company, providing appliance sales and service until his death. Randy also held licenses in heating and air conditioning and commercial refrigeration. He was also part-owner and later owner of North Ridge Package Store and Bar during the early to late 1970's. Randy joined Allen-Graham Masonic Lodge in 1973, served as Master in 1979 and also served from 1981 until his death as Secretary. He was elected with a Life Membership in 2015. Randy joined the Scottish Rite and the Oasis Shrine Headquarters in 1975, joined Cabarrus Shrine Club in 1976, was elected to Secretary in 1986 serving in that capacity until his death. He served as President in 2001 and was also elected as a Life Member in 2002. In January 2010, then Potentate of Oasis Shrine, Mike Downs, presented Randy with an Honorary Life Membership in the Oasis Shrine. He was inducted as a member of the Royal Order of Jesters in March 2017. Randy was preceded in death by his first wife of 17 years, Judy Ruth Reeder Cox, who passed away on September 18, 2015. He is survived by wife, Gaynell Goodnight Crainshaw who have been together since 1985 and were married on September 18, 2004, his children; Angela Yvonne Crainshaw O'Kelly (Richard) and Randy Colen Crainshaw II (Laura), his step-children; Larry Wayne Goodnight (Lisa) and Lori Goodnight Pittman (Dean), his grandchildren; Daniel and Ryan O'Kelly, Carson Crainshaw, Justin Little, Tiffani Pittman, Daniel, David and Crystal Goodnight and Chariti Lowder and his great-grandchildren; Damian and Holden Goodnight, Caleb Allen, Emma Dobbins, Macayla Goodnight and Caylin, Camryn and Cierstyn Lowder. He is also survived by his sisters; Joy Crainshaw Purser (Tommy) and Susan Crainshaw Hathaway (Chris. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 6 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Beaver officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by Allen-Graham Lodge #695.
