Randy Trent Power

Randy Trent Power, 43, of Spindale, NC, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Wednesday evening, August 8, 2023.

Born October 9, 1979, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of James Terry Power and Kathy Lynn Vanderburg Power.

Growing up, Randy loved camping at Kure beach with his grandpa "Oscar" Vanderburg. They spent their time together fishing and would cook what they caught, enjoying every minute, like two peas in a pod. He got his love for the beach from his grandpa who he loved with all his heart.

A 1998 graduate of South Rowan High, Randy was on the football, wrestling and track team. Although he enjoyed all sports, wrestling was his favorite and it showed. Randy also showed his talent through woodworking and made several beautiful furniture pieces that he used for years. Randy also enjoyed fishing,cooking and NASCAR.

Randy made his home in Spindale, North Carolina, working as a churn room technician at Trelleborg coated systems, where he earned the respect from coworkers and management.  He was grateful to have a job that he loved and actually enjoyed going to everyday.

Family members left to always remember and love Randy include his parents, Kathy and Mike Beam; his sister, Toni Beam; brother, Jesse Beam (Ashley); grandmother, Bobbie Beam; aunts, uncles and extended family members.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hank Beam, and Clarence and Arline Vanderburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 17th from 1:00-2:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Randy will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park.
