Ravenelle Mitchell Bost

Obituary: Ravenelle Mitchell Bost, age 79, passed away November 20, 2014 at CMC-NE after a period of declining health. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Sunday, November 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. At other times they will be at the family home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 24 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hubbard and Rev. Rodney Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Ravenelle was born May 15, 1935 in Mecklenburg Co., a daughter of the late Raymond D. and Nell Chapman Mitchell. She was a lifelong area resident, graduating from A.L. Brown High School in 1953 and was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church. Ravenelle was a homemaker to her family and her house was like a second home to the neighborhood kids. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her granddaughter, to whom she was very close. Ravenelle was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Ravenelle was preceded in death by her sister, Aubra Fisher and her brother, Graden "Bud" Mitchell. Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 49 years, Lonnie Bost of the home, her daughter, Gena Bost Overcash of Kannapolis, her son, Rick Wagoner (Cindy) of Raleigh, her granddaughter, Anna Caroline Overcash of China Grove, her special sister-in-law, Alice McRorie of Kannapolis and a loving group of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday November 23, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00 PM, Monday November 24, 2014 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
