Ray Dell Bare

Ray Dell Bare, 72, of Concord, went into his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

Ray was born on April 5, 1948 in Ashe County, NC to the late Joseph Iron Bare and Edna Severt Bare. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, I.J. Bare and Glen Clifton Bare.

Ray spent his career as a master mechanic for 38 years at Fiber Industries. In his free time, he loved hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He also admired and enjoyed restoring old cars.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 53 years; Brenda Bare, three sons, Steven Ray (Tammy) Bare; Anthony (Michelle) Bare; and Brian (Indra) Bare; grandchildren, Travis Bare, Sebastian Bare, Spencer Bare, Ashton Bare, Alexandria Bare, Claudia Bare, and Joshua Bare. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Strickland Ph.D and  Rev. Brian Bare M.Div officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family welcomes flowers, but for those who prefer, memorials in Ray’s memory may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, 2628 Shady Lane Ave., Concord, NC 28027.
