Ray Edward Craven

Ray Edward Craven, 86, of Kannapolis, passed into the loving arms of the Lord January 25, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Born February 27, 1935 in Wilkes County, he was the son of the late Johnie and Blanche Bauguess Craven.
Ray spent his working years at Carolina Mirror, Gardner Glass, and Cannon Mills. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, small engine work, making and fixing things , and fishing. A man of faith, he was a member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Shelby Hayes Craven; children Annette Bollinger and husband Ricky of Kannapolis, Shelia Moore and husband Joel of Kannapolis, David, and Larry Craven and wife Kay of Concord; grandchildren, Anderson Moore, Stephanie Ball and husband Derek, and Phillip Harris and wife Alyssa; a great granddaughter, Mattie Ball; and a brother, Dean Craven, of Roaring River.
A graveside service to honor Ray's life will be held 2:00 pm, Monday January 31, 2022 at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Andy Downs will officiate. There will be no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Royal Oaks Baptist Church, 904 Texas St., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
