Rayford Eugene Cauble, Sr.

Obituary: Rayford Eugene Cauble, Sr., 85, of Concord, NC went to be with the Lord Friday, September 29, 2017 at his residence following a period of declining health. Rayford was born January 22, 1932 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Franklin Luther Cauble and Sadie Levina Lowder Cauble. He was also preceded in two brothers, Lester Franklin Cauble and John Dathie Cauble. He was a member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church and had graduated from Odell High School. He was a 55 year member of Cannon Masonic Lodge #626. He had retired 35 years ago from Western-Electric where he was employed as a repair technician. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict Era and had been a member of the Odell Community for many years. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Monday, October 2, 2017 at Gilwood Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Nathan Wheeler. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:30-3:45 P.M. Monday. At other times they will be at the residence. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Cabarrus County Honor Guard. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 67 years; Ann Patterson Cauble, of the home one daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Cauble of Concord, one son, Ray Cauble, Jr. and wife Donna of Kannapolis, one brother, Larry A. Cauble and wife Saundra of Concord, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Gilwood Presbyterian Church, Permanent Scholarship Fund, and 2993Odell School Road, Concord, NC 28027. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Cauble.
